Wood Bathtubs

Wooden Bathtubs

Impossible to duplicate, these wood bathtubs will literally and figuratively bear the load of improving your bathroom.

These showcase tubs develop a patina after a certain period for a unique look, while the handcrafted, painstaking construction process results in an impactful item. We can even customize the specific angles and size at your request.

A possibly overlooked feature of these tubs is the environmentally friendly approach taken to the sourcing process. We select wood harvested from government-approved sustainable forests.

These modern tubs come in a few sizes, from less than 54" tubs to over 73" tubs. These tubs are available in mahogany wood and natural or whitewash teak wood.

A natural wood bathtub is a one-of-a-kind handcrafted statement piece that will be the centerpiece of your bathroom. As natural wood bathtubs are custom-made for you, they can easily be modified to a size that best suits your needs. Wood retains heat much longer than many other bathtub materials, allowing you to relax and soak without needing to top up the tub with warm water. Natural wood bathtubs are eco-friendly, as the wood used is harvested from government-approved sustainable forests. No floor reinforcement should be needed if installing on higher floors.

Clean with a soft damp cloth and wipe dry immediately to eliminate water spots or soap buildup and prevent bacteria growth. Avoid using abrasive or corrosive cleaning materials or cleaning pads. After bathing, drain your bathtub and avoid keeping water in the tub for extended periods. Keep the bath out of direct sunlight, hot dry air, and chemicals. Natural wood products patina with time; furniture wax is recommended to preserve the semi-gloss finish.

Our natural wood bathtubs are handcrafted using old-world techniques, ensuring their strength and durability. They are made of A and B grade lumber, and each piece of wood is hand-selected. All lumber is kiln-dried together to ensure equal drying of the wood used. Corners are formed using hand-formed dovetail joints, which are both beautiful and extremely strong.

Natural wood bathtubs typically weigh less than 400 lbs.

Wood bathtubs can be a stunning addition to various bathroom designs, but their suitability depends on a few factors.

Space and Weight: Wood bathtubs may require more space and have a significant weight compared to standard acrylic or fiberglass tubs. Ensure your bathroom floor can support the weight and that there's enough room for installation.

Plumbing Compatibility: Most wood bathtubs are designed to be compatible with modern plumbing systems. They typically come with standard drain placements and overflow features, making them easy to integrate into existing plumbing setups.

Humidity and Ventilation: Bathrooms with proper ventilation are ideal for wood bathtubs, as wood can be sensitive to prolonged exposure to high humidity. Ensure your bathroom has adequate ventilation to prevent moisture-related issues.

Yes, we work closely with our exclusive wood bathtub manufacturer allowing us to offer customization options to fit your specific needs and bathroom space. You can choose from various wood types, finishes, and even the shape and size of the bathtub. Customization allows you to create a unique centerpiece for your bathroom that complements your decor and meets your preferences.

Proper installation is crucial to ensure the wood bathtub functions correctly and remains stable. While some wood bathtubs come with detailed installation instructions for DIY enthusiasts, professional installation is recommended for a seamless and secure fit. Professional installers have the expertise to handle potential challenges and ensure the plumbing connections are correctly integrated.

If you're unsure about the size of bathtub that will best fit your space, our bathtub buying guide can help you make an informed decision.

The weight of a bathtub varies based on size and material:

  • Acrylic: Typically less than 200 lbs.
  • Cast Iron: Usually less than 400 lbs.
  • Copper: Generally less than 250 lbs.
  • Natural Wood: Normally less than 400 lbs.
  • Resin: Typically less than 400 lbs.

Normally the floor joists are strong enough to carry the weight of a bathtub. If you are installing an exceptionally large bathtub it is recommended you seek the advice of a contractor.

Bathtubs typically range from 48” to 72” in length, with a common size being around 60”.

Bathtubs are a motor freight product and require delivery by a semi trailer. Motor freight deliveries will be a liftgate/curbside service meaning the shipment will be dropped at the edge of the driveway. The driver will not carry the item(s) onto the driveway or anywhere on your property, nor will it be brought inside (this is due to liability).

We recommend having help on-site to aid in transporting your goods. For more details on freight deliveries, you can visit our shipping information page.

Bathtubs typically ship within 1-2 business days from the time of the order. Air tubs normally ship within one week. Delivery time will depend on where you are located, but typically shipping time is 1 week or less.

Our Wesley Collection offers an exclusive MagnaAir option for freestanding acrylic, resin, or copper bathtubs. Learn more about our MagnaAir tub systems, along with details about our MagnaWarmth insulation.
