Double-Slipper Oval Tubs FAQs

How do you determine what size bathtub you will fit into?

If you're unsure about the size of bathtub that will best fit your space, our bathtub buying guide can help you make an informed decision.

How much do bathtubs weigh?

The weight of a bathtub varies based on size and material:

  • Acrylic: Typically less than 200 lbs.
  • Cast Iron: Usually less than 400 lbs.
  • Copper: Generally less than 250 lbs.
  • Natural Wood: Normally less than 400 lbs.
  • Resin: Typically less than 400 lbs.

Does a freestanding or clawfoot bathtub require additional reinforcement of your floor?

Normally the floor joists are strong enough to carry the weight of a bathtub. If you are installing an exceptionally large bathtub it is recommended you seek the advice of a contractor.

What are typical sizes for bathtubs?

Bathtubs typically range from 48” to 72” in length, with a common size being around 60”.

How do bathtubs ship?

Bathtubs are a motor freight product and require delivery by a semi trailer. Motor freight deliveries will be a liftgate/curbside service meaning the shipment will be dropped at the edge of the driveway. The driver will not carry the item(s) onto the driveway or anywhere on your property, nor will it be brought inside (this is due to liability).

We recommend having help on-site to aid in transporting your goods. For more details on freight deliveries, you can visit our shipping information page.

How long will it take to get my bathtub?

Bathtubs typically ship within 1-2 business days from the time of the order. Air tubs normally ship within one week. Delivery time will depend on where you are located, but typically shipping time is 1 week or less.

Can air be added to a bathtub?
