What is a Resin Bathtub?
Resin bathtubs also known as stone resin or solid surface bathtubs are manufactured from engineered or man-made materials. They are made from a composite of real stones, polymer resin and natural minerals. The stones are crushed and then bound together by the resin and minerals. The resulting compound is 100% non-porous and therefore unaffected by moisture or humidity thus making it an ideal material for bathtubs.
Resin Bathtub Style
These tubs are extremely popular due to their clean white look and mostly modern vibe. Buyers can select between a more subdued matte finish or a shinier glossy look. The color is consistent throughout and most of our tubs include a neutral white drain to blend in with the tub's finish. These tubs are available in oval, rectangular and other shapes, enabling the buyer to select their preferred look. Specific tub models are geared toward those preferring extra-wide, or extra-deep soaking tubs. We have models that are manufactured in both the USA and Italy.

Resin Bathtubs FAQs
What are resin bathtubs, and why are they a popular choice for modern bathrooms?
Resin bathtubs are high-quality tubs made from a composite material that combines acrylic or fiberglass with a strong synthetic resin. They are favored for their durability, lightweight nature, and contemporary designs. These bathtubs offer a seamless, smooth finish and are often preferred for their resistance to stains, chipping, and cracking. Additionally, their non-porous surface makes them easy to clean and maintain, providing a long-lasting, luxurious bathing experience.
What are the benefits of a resin bathtub?
Resin bathtubs are excellent in retaining heat, making them ideal for soaking. They are extremely durable and easy to care for. Resin bathtubs can be easily repaired if a minor scratch occurs on the surface. They are cast of solid resin material, giving them a sturdy and well-weighted design. The optional MagnaAir air massage systems can be added to all Wesley Collection Resin Bathtubs.
How do I care for a resin bathtub?
Resin bathtubs feature non-porous surfaces, making them simple to clean. Standard maintenance only requires a non-abrasive soap such as Joy®, Palmolive®, or Ivory® and a soft sponge/cloth. Resin’s non-porous surface naturally resists stains, scratches, and discoloration. If a minor scratch occurs on a matte finish Resin Bathtub, rinse any dirt from the surface with clean water and rub in a small circular motion using #800 grit sandpaper until the scratch is gone. Follow-up with #1200 sandpaper to smooth the area.
What are the advantages of resin bathtubs over traditional materials like cast iron acrylic or fiberglass?
Resin bathtubs offer several advantages over traditional materials. Firstly, their composite construction allows for unique shapes and designs, making them ideal for modern and custom bathroom layouts. Unlike fiberglass bathtubs, resin bathtubs retain heat more efficiently, ensuring a longer and more enjoyable soak. Additionally, their non-porous surface prevents the growth of bacteria and mold, enhancing hygiene and simplifying cleaning routines.
Are resin bathtubs suitable for frequent use, and do they maintain their appearance over time?
Yes, resin bathtubs are designed to withstand frequent use and maintain their appearance over the long term. The durable resin material ensures that the tubs are resistant to scratches, fading, and discoloration, making them perfect for everyday bathing. Furthermore, the high-quality finish of these tubs ensures that they retain their luster and elegance even after years of use. To prolong the lifespan of a resin bathtub, it is recommended to follow the manufacturer's care guidelines and use gentle, non-abrasive cleaning agents.
Are resin bathtubs eco-friendly and safe for the environment?
Resin bathtubs are considered more eco-friendly compared to certain traditional materials. The production process for resin tubs often involves using recyclable materials, reducing the carbon footprint associated with their manufacturing. Additionally, resin bathtubs are free from harmful chemicals like lead and mercury, ensuring they are safe for both users and the environment. When disposing of old resin bathtubs, recycling options may be available, depending on local recycling facilities.
Can resin bathtubs be customized to fit specific bathroom layouts and personal preferences?
Yes, one of the major advantages of resin bathtubs is their versatility and customization options. Many manufacturers offer a wide range of sizes, shapes, and styles to accommodate various bathroom layouts and design aesthetics. Resin bathtubs can be adapted to suit individual preferences and create a unique focal point in the bathroom.
Are resin bathtubs strong?
Resin Bathtubs are cast in a mold as a liquid, which then cures and hardens, providing a solid-walled bathtub that is extremely strong. This process allows them to be made in a wide range of styles and sizes. All Wesley Collection Resin Bathtubs can have the optional MagnaAir air massage systems added to increase the soaking pleasure.
How much does a resin bathtub weigh?
Resin Bathtubs typically weigh around 400 lbs.
